Interscholastic Eventing League
USEA Interscholastic Eventing League (IEL)
Launched in August 2020, the USEA Interscholastic Eventing League (IEL) gives students in grades 5 through 12 the opportunity to experience eventing in a fun, supportive team-based environment. The IEL connects junior riders who share a common bond—whether from the same barn, school, Pony Club, or local area—and allows them to compete together while building camaraderie, confidence, and lifelong friendships.
Designed to be inclusive and flexible, the IEL creates a welcoming pathway for young riders to grow within the sport while enjoying the excitement of representing their team.
Forming an IEL Club
An IEL Club may be formed by any group of junior riders with a shared connection, including:
Same barn
Same school
Same Pony Club
Same geographic area
Junior riders may belong to one IEL Club per year.
Club Registration & Fees
Clubs must register annually with the USEA using the Interscholastic Eventing League Application Form
Club membership fee: $75
Registration and renewal deadline: February 15
Late submissions may be accepted on a case-by-case basis
Fee Waiver:
For clubs associated with a certified USEA Eventing Coaches Program (ECP) coach, the $75 club fee is waived. An ECP coach may only be affiliated with one IEL Club.
