Instructors' Certification Program (ICP)-

As of January, 2008, a small group of generous USEA members named "The ICP Boosters" have identified Areas III, IV, and IX as USEA Areas where, as compared to the other USEA Areas, the number of ICP-certified instructors per number of Area USEA members is very low.
The ICP Boosters have therefore supplied funding for the following: the first 20 Level I or II candidate instructors living in Areas III, IV, and IX to complete successfully the Levels I/II Workshops Pair and Assessment will be reimbursed at the time their ICP certificates are issued for the ICP Assessment fee of $500 by a Boosters grant of $500.
USEA Manager of Educational Programs Nancy Myers, who attends to the Assessment files of all ICP candidate instructors, will keep a record of the dates of successful completion of the ICP Workshops and Assessment of all Area III, IV, and IX Level I or II candidates for the purpose described above.
For Levels I/II Workshops dates and ICP Assessment dates, please check the ICP Workshops and Assessments Calendar page of the USEA website, www.useventing.com/education.php?section=instructors&id=127.
For information about all aspects of the ICP program, go to ICP's first page at www.useventing.com/education.php?section=instructors.
Should you have any questions, please contact me Nancy Myers, Educational Programs Manager, U.S. Eventing Association, 525 Old Waterford Road, NW, Leesburg, VA 20176; 703-779-0440, Ext 3007; 703-779-0550 Fax

If you are using spam filtering, please add mail@usea3.org to your safe list.

To subscribe/unsubscribe to the email list, please click HERE. Comments and questions can be emailed to areaiii@hotmail.com.

This 'n That -

7/2/08 - Expanded Use of Division Options- For the 2009 Area Calendar, several Organizers are taking advantage of split divisions. You will see more offering split divisions such as "I/P" or "P/T", especially during the early spring and early fall events. For example, a "P/T" division means the entries would do Preliminary level dressage and show jumping with a Training level cross-country. The division will count as a Training division for points and qualifications, but the division will be valuable in experience and preparation for the next level.

7/2/08 - Sharing Event Experiences- Area 3 covers several states and includes many different event venues. Some of us have our favorites and wonder why more people don't attend these shows. Some shows are new in the area and we don't know a lot about them - or we might want to venture outside our driving area and try a new event.

We are asking competitors to start writing about shows that they like and let others know about the facilities, organization, location, terrain, amenities, course (was it true to the level or not). This would allow all of us to get to know a little bit more about the various shows in our area and provide visibility for newer or lesser known shows. We don't want these writeups to sugar coat the events, but we do want to let people know what they may be missing or that this may be a show to put on your calendar to try. THESE ARE NOT EVENT EVALUATIONS - those are still valid but not what we are looking for here.

We are hoping to compile your input and post on the website as a way of sharing information throughout our area. Send your input via email to areaiii@hotmail.com. Include your name and contact information, the event name and date along with your thoughts and likes about the event and/or ammenities in the surrounding area.
